Remembrance Sunday is a day traditionally set aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today. Across the nation, people pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service personnel.
On Sunday 9th November 2025, Huntingdon Town Council and RAF Wyton, supported by Royal British Legion’s Huntingdon Branch, will join residents and visitors to Huntingdon to honour the memory and sacrifice of the Armed Forces and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, as well as the vital role played by emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
RAF Wyton will parade into the Market Square from the Princes Street entrance for the annual service of Remembrance. Civic dignitaries and community groups will lay wreaths at the Thinking Soldier war memorial, after which the parade will march along the High Street and St Mary’s Street.
Members of the public are welcome to join the service from the Wood Green side of the Market Square. Please assemble no later than 10.40am, when the parade will march into position. For those who wish to watch the parade further down the High Street, the service will be broadcast over the town centre speakers.
For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the event will be available via the Huntingdon Town Council Facebook page, and digital copies of the order of service will be available to view on the Huntingdon Town Council website a week before the parade.
A short service and two-minute silence will also take place on the Market Square on Tuesday 11th November 2025 to mark Armistice Day. The service will start shortly before 11.00am. All are welcome to observe.
