Local Highways Improvements

Cambridgeshire County Council will be undertaking a second consultation on the updated package for the A141 and St Ives Improvements Scheme. The A141 and St Ives Improvements Study considers the upgrading of the transport network on the A141 corridor and around Huntingdon and St Ives.  This includes improvements to active travel, public transport and road elements. As well as addressing current road capacity issues, there is also need to improve the entire integrated transport network, to enable short, local journeys to be made more efficiently and in a more environmentally friendly way. The scheme is funded by the Combined Authority.

Previously, the scheme underwent a public consultation in October – November 2024 and since then there have been further reviews of the active travel and public transport measures, as well as further modelling to improve road capacity in St Ives. The scheme will now be presented in a second public consultation taking place between 8 October 2025 to 19 November 2025 and will include a number of public events and online webinars.
