o Ash is an award-nominated singer and songwriter. Her music is full of strong melodies and drama as she comments on life as she observes and experiences it, sometimes with humour, sometimes with heart-felt introspection, and sometimes with both. She has received many plaudits for her live performances and her recorded music. The Musicians' Union said of her debut album in 2019 “Singer-songwriter Jo Ash’s debut demands that we take notice. Jo’s balladry is unapologetically dramatic with swooping vocals perfectly suited to her gothic tales". Cambridge Music Reviews commented in 2023 “A superb evening of compelling and mesmeric music from this very talented performer”. Jo will be joined by Mike Wheatley on acoustic guitar, and The Acoustic Club at Bishop’s Stortford said in 2024 “Jo Ash accompanied by Mike Wheatley are a natural combination. Jo’s songs, musical accompaniment and outstanding vocal are a joy to listen to. She is a prolific songwriter and her choice of subject is both varied and highly entertaining. When you add the counterpoint of Mike’s guitar work you have a winning combination”.
