Learn about the amazing range of colours of 1600s clothing - and have a go at achieving them!
Have you ever wondered how Puritans dyed their clothing black? What about the stunning colours worn by Royalists? Did the poor all wear shades of sheep? Can one dye make different colours?
Come and find out in our new workshop on 17th century dyes. Run by local historian Chris Carr, this workshop will introduce you to the basic principles of natural dyes and mordants. You will go home with a rainbow of coloured yarns to use in your own projects.
All equipment and materials are included (and can be kept afterwards) and refreshments are provided. No experience necessary, over 16s only. Max 6 people per session.
