Named after the decisive victory over Royalist forces in 1645, the Naseby was one of four new battleships built for the Protectorate Navy in 1655. She was the largest ship in the fleet, with 80 guns and a crew of 650 men.

The model of the ship in our collection was the passion project of Fred Pearl, a model and prop maker, who built it over 20 years of his life. One of our volunteers, Trevor, has used Pearl’s notes to bring this model back to life, and it will be on display at Huntingdon Library in working condition for the first time. Drop in to see how the ship model worked and have a go yourself.
