Public File
Public File
Radio stations licensed to broadcast in the UK require a ‘Public File’.
Each local community radio station in the UK has obligations with regard to its programmes, including its music and local content. These obligations are set out in the station format which forms part of this station’s public file. The file is available in hard copy by post upon request by a member of the public, and serves as one indicator of each station’s output. Comment on the contents of the public file should be made to the station or to the industry regulator, Ofcom.
Our Service
Ouse Valley Radio is a community radio station that has broadcast as Huntingdon Community Radio to the Huntingdon area since 1995, building upon a solid reputation for popular and specialist music, community news, features and active involvement through volunteering. A rebrand took place early in 2026 when the name and on-air identity was changed.
Ouse Valley Radio and its predecessor was awarded a full-time licence to broadcast in 2009 and is available on FM (104:00 MHz), and online through www.ousevalleyradio.com, a variety of mobile applications including its own dedicated Mobile App available from App Stores, smart speakers and other connected devices. The station broadcasts music, news and features 24 hours a day from our studios in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. In addition to the main town of Huntingdon, it aims to reach listeners in Godmanchester, Ramsey, St Ives, Warboys and surrounding towns and villages of the Cambridgeshire part of what is known as the Ouse Valley.
Ouse Valley Radio is a ‘not for profit’ organisation that can raise half its income from grants and donations. Occasionally, you may hear advertising for donations – any received are contributed to Huntingdon Community Radio (Media) Limited (Company no. 06755423). After running costs, the station donates excess funds to chosen local charities and groups, decided upon by its Charities sub-committee.
The station relies on advertising revenue, fundraising, grants and donations from members and others interested in supporting it.
