Psychedelic blues rock band, The 29th Funktion, recognised for their explosive high-energy live shows, have just independently recorded their brand new debut album scheduled to be out this year. Based in Cambridgeshire, performing live you can expect a varied crafted set of renditions of covers like no others, their own passion mad original music and their incomparable infectious spirit.

Kontra Band are singer, songwriter, guitarist and harmonica player Kevin Buxton - folk/blues guitarist, Adam de Santis, and fiddle/mandolin maestro, Robin Hillman.

Ballads & Blues, Devils & Booze is a lively evening of songs, stories and dark humour exploring humanity’s oldest temptations. From Robert Johnson’s legendary deal at the crossroads to murder ballads, drinking songs and devilish blues, this entertaining show journeys through folk, blues and Americana traditions with wit, warmth and outstanding musicianship. Expect tales of rogues, sinners, gamblers and hard drinkers, alongside classics by artists such as Steve Earle, Randy Newman, The Rolling Stones and Richard Thompson. By turns spooky, moving and laugh-out-loud funny, Ballads & Blues, Devils & Booze is a richly entertaining celebration of music’s darker side.
