Huntingdon's Popular Sunset Beats & Bites Returns for Summer Finale

Residents and visitors are invited to join Huntingdon Town Council and Huntingdon First for the final Sunset Beats & Bites event of 2026 on Friday 28 August, ending another successful season of food, music and community in Huntingdon Market Square.

Now in its fourth year, Sunset Beats & Bites has become a firm favourite in Huntingdon’s summer calendar. Delivered through a partnership between Huntingdon Town Council and Huntingdon First (BID), the programme was established to encourage greater use of the town centre during the evening, support local businesses and create opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy Huntingdon’s public spaces in a welcoming and inclusive environment. This year’s events have once again brought the Market Square to life, with live music, street food and a vibrant atmosphere attracting people of all ages into the town centre.

The success of the series has also been supported by a grant from Huntingdon Freemen’s Trust, which helped fund the live entertainment programme and ensured visitors could continue to enjoy high-quality performances throughout the summer.

The final event on Friday 28 August will feature live music from 2nd Chance, alongside a selection of food and drink traders offering a range of cuisines and refreshments.

Cllr Amanda Norton, Chair of Huntingdon Town Council’s Place and Community Committee, said:

“Sunset Beats & Bites continues to demonstrate the positive impact community events can have on Huntingdon town centre. Through our partnership with Huntingdon First, and with the valued support of Huntingdon Freemen’s Trust, we’ve been able to create events that support local businesses, encourage people to spend time in the town centre and provide a fantastic atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. We’re delighted with how the series has developed and look forward to welcoming everyone to the final event of the summer.”

Paul Sweeney, CEO for BID Huntingdon First, said:

“The success of Sunset Beats & Bites shows what can be achieved through genuine partnership working. The events have become a real asset for the town, supporting traders, attracting visitors and helping to showcase Huntingdon as a vibrant destination. We’re looking forward to finishing the season on a high with another great evening in the Market Square.”

Residents are encouraged to come along, enjoy the music, support local traders and help round off another successful Sunset Beats & Bites season.
